CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

SUMMER, SUMMER, SUMMER

By Arkansas Democratic Party - Added 17 June 2009

The Democratic Party of Arkansas (DPA) and our auxiliaries have been extremely busy with the festival season in full swing and many special events across the state.  Last weekend saw the second in a series of statewide bus tours by the Democratic House Caucus, the Arkansas AIDS Walk, Deviled Egg Day in Mississippi County, and the famed Pink Tomato Festival in Bradley County.  That's just to name a few.  Many state legislators, county officials, and distinguished Democrats took part in the events with a singularity of purpose, extending the reach of the Democratic Party.

I would like to thank all of you who took personal time to travel about the state to represent your fellow Democrats at these events.  Our party's strength is in its people and our state will continue to reap the benefits of your hard work.

This week we look to continue building the momentum as the post-legislative session bus tour heads south to Pine Bluff, Arkadelphia, Hot Springs, and Prescott. We are looking forward to great turnouts so please join your fellow Democrats and show your support.  I plan to join them in Arkadelphia and Hot Springs

On Friday evening, two of our finest Democrats, Judy Tenebaum and Jimmie Lou Fisher, are being honored for their lifelong commitments to improving the lives of fellow Arkansans.  Please click here for more information.  Also on Friday the Young Democrats of Arkansas are hosting an evening at the ballgame at Dickey Stephens Park

Earlier this week I was in northwest Arkansas meeting with diverse and vibrant groups of Democrats at the Washington County Democratic Central Committee meeting and the Northwest Arkansas Senior Democrats.  Please continue to invite me to meetings and events in your communities, schedule-allowing I will try to participate in as many as possible.

Finally I'd like to congratulate the following for recently being named to Arkansas Business' annual "40 Under 40":  Michael Cook, Mariah Hatta, Jordan Johnson, Melissa Moody, Brandon Robinson, Kent Walker, and Zac Wright.  Each of these individuals has played active roles in the Democratic Party.  Please join me in congratulating them for their accomplishments thus far.  Please click here for more information.

Sincerely,

Todd Turner
