Democratic Day at the Races

The Democratic Party of Arkansas’s first Executive Committee meeting of 2010 is right around the corner.  The DPA Executive Committee meeting will be held Saturday, March 27 at 9:45 a.m. at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs in conjunction with Democratic Day at the Races.  With less than 70 days to go before the May Preferential Primary, the time is now to get active and involved to ensure our success electing Democrats to office in November.  This event will provide an excellent opportunity to meet with fellow voters, candidates, and Democratic elected officials from across Arkansas.

Earlier that morning, District 4 of the Arkansas Federation of Democratic Women (AFDW) will host a meeting at the Oaklawn Jockey Club in the Arkansas Room.  Registration for the meeting begins at 8:00 a.m. the meeting will follow at 8:30 a.m.  Presenters at the meeting will include Democratic elected officials, DPA Officers, and distinguished guests.  For more information about this meeting please contact Karen Garcia at (501) 767-9745 or by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. After the meetings, please stick around and join us for Democratic Day at the Races.  It is time to reserve your spot for an afternoon of fun amongst Democrats in the Oaklawn Jockey Club.  The reservation includes a special all you can eat buffet.  The Jockey Club and buffet will open at 11:00 a.m. and first post time is set for 1:30 p.m.  Please note jackets are required to enter the Jockey Club and jeans are not allowed.  Reservations for the day are $45 per individual and the deadline to RSVP is March 22.  Please include the names of your guests enclosed with a check made payable to Virginia Clinton Kelley Democratic Women and mail reservation to VCK Democratic Women, P.O. The DPA has reserved room blocks at reduced rates at four area hotels for Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27.  Space is limited and rooms are going fast so make your reservations soon.  Please call the following hotels directly to make your reservation.
