LITTLE ROCK, ARK.- On Saturday, August 24, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette printed a letter from U.S. Representative Vic Snyder drawing attention to the stark contrasts between the candidates in the Second Congressional District Tim Griffin and Senator Joyce Elliott. 

The choice is clear in the Second Congressional District between Mr. Griffin, whose qualifications for office include serving as Karl Rove’s assistant and running a right-wing smear machine in Washington, D.C., and Senator Elliott, who has dedicated her life to working to improve education and creating good, high paying jobs for all of the Natural State’s citizens.

Mississippi County is having an opening day event for the Mississippi County Democratic headquarters September 2, at 5:00 p.m. at 314 North Sixth Street, Blytheville.
 
The United Steel Workers Local 752 will be hosting the Labor Day Picnic at Four States Fairgrounds, 3700 East 50th Street, Texarkana.
