“What is happening to our neighbors in Mississippi is tragic and a symptom of a broken and unfair system. More than 600 people were arrested while simply working to support and feed their families and their kids,” said Democratic Party of Arkansas Chairman Michael John Gray. “Hundreds of children are now separated from their parents and forced to sleep in crowded detention centers and concrete cells. Meanwhile the people who run the companies that exploited these people illegally and profited from their labor get to go back to their lives, uninterrupted.”
