Arkansas Democrats Begin Implementation of the 2024 Arkansas Delegate Selection Plan

“Arkansas Democrats are fired up and ready to help nominate and elect our candidate for President of the United States,” said Democratic Party of Arkansas Chair Grant Tennille. “This delegate selection plan affirms our commitment to diversity and inclusion and ensures that we will send the most diverse and representative delegation in our state’s history to Chicago.”

Led by its Affirmative Action Committee and its Executive Committee, the Democratic Party of Arkansas will host well-publicized educational workshops in each of the delegate districts in the run up to the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary. These workshops will be designed to encourage participation in the delegate selection process, including apprising potential delegate and alternate candidates of the availability of financial assistance. These workshops will be held in places that are easily accessible to persons with disabilities. The times, dates, places and rules for the conduct of all education workshops, meetings and other events involved in the delegate selection process shall be effectively publicized by the party organization and include mailings to various organizations representative of the Democratic voting electorate.

County Representatives to the Arkansas Democratic Special State Convention are responsible for electing Arkansas’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention, which officially nominates candidates for President and Vice President of the United States and adopts the national Platform of the Democratic Party.
