John Whiteside - Political Director

John Whiteside is a veteran political and public affairs operative. His first race out of college was working on Mark Pryor’s successful bid to win a U.S. Senate seat by ousting Republican Tim Hutchinson in 2002. He has worked in virtually every campaign discipline: management, media, field, research and finance. Whiteside has worked on races at the Presidential, US Senate, Congressional and Supreme Court level including General Wesley Clark, Senator Mark Pryor, Senator Mary Landrieu, Congressman Brad Carson, and Attorney General Dustin McDaniel. In 2006, Whiteside served as Director of the Arkansas Democratic Party. Under his leadership, Democrats swept all statewide constitutional offices, and gained three additional seats in the State Legislature.
John served as the campaign manager for both Joyce Elliott’s race for U.S.Congress and her successful re-election to the State Senate. He most recently served as the Policy Director for the Arkansas Public Policy Panel and oversaw the successful ‘Raise the Minimum Wage' effort for the Arkansas Education Association in the 2014 cycle. Karyn Coleman - Director of Operations

Karyn holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Organization Management from Philander Smith College and has over ten years of experience in management, budgeting and operations. Karyn is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc, Little Rock Alumnae Chapter, where she has spent four years serving on the Executive Committee and as an undergraduate chapter advisor on the campus of Philander Smith College. Becky Pittman - Finance Director

Becky was born and raised in southern Arkansas where she learned to love fishing, sports, and working to make her community a better place to live. She earned her Masters in literature from Hunter College in New York, where she worked in the film industry. Since her return to her home state, she has worked in marketing, PR, and fundraising for various nonprofits. She lives in Little Rock with her husband Nathan and their three children, Spencer, Lilla, and Ike, their dog Woodsy, and their cat Khali. becky@arkdems.org

Misty Fox - Data Director

Misty is a Little Rock native who has spent the majority of her career as an analyst. Most of her career was spent at Acxiom helping to build databases for large clients and training employees and clients how to utilize and manage data on different platforms. Reed Brewer - Communications Director

Reed was born and raised in Little Rock and graduated from Hendrix College with an English: Film Studies degree. Reed joins the Democratic Party of Arkansas after managing Democrat Paul Spencer’s Second Congressional District Campaign. Previous to this election cycle, Brewer served as the Social Media Coordinator for KTHV, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock. While in the newsroom there, he planned coverage of the 2016 general election, 2017 inauguration, 2017 state legislative session, and the 2017 executions in Arkansas, in addition to numerous other events throughout the state. brewer@arkdems.org 501-374-2361 ext. 2004

Jacob Kauffman - Coordinated Campaign Communications Director

Jacob has the honor of helping get the good word out about the 2018 elections. His background has been rooted in journalism, primarily covering Arkansas politics. He worked for five years at Arkansas's flagship public radio station and had the privilege of providing reporting to National Public Radio, PBS, BBC Radio, and Arkansas's own Nashville News. Taylor Riddle - Chief of Staff

Taylor Riddle has been involved in Arkansas politics for over 13 years. He started working on the 2006 campaign for U.S. Cossgressman Marion Berry, who nominated him as a Page for the U.S. Congress. During his tenure as a Page in 2007, Riddle was awarded the Citizenship award for his exemplary service. Riddle went on to work on federal, state, and local campaigns. He ran the campaign for one of two Arkansas legislative candidates that defeated a Republican incumbent in 2012. In 2013, Riddle became the Executive Director of the Arkansas House of Representatives Democratic Caucus. He has served under 5 Democratic Leaders during the course of the 89th, 90th, and 91st General Assemblies. During that time, Democrats in the General Assemblies have adopted Obama care, addressed a teacher health insurance crisis, and fought to protect public education. Riddle has served on the Democratic Party of Arkansas State and Executive Committees as well as been elected as an alternate Delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention and a Delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention. Jo Carden - Executive Assistant

Jo graduated from the University of Arkansas in May 2018. There, she obtained a degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Southern Studies. Kimberly Toots - Deputy Field Director

Kimberly is responsible for grassroots outreach, canvassing, phone banking, and training and recruiting volunteers. Before joining the DPA, she completed a two-year fellowship program with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in Washington, DC, where she served in the congressional office of Congresswoman Maxine Waters and also on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce under the tutelage of Congressman Robert C. "Bobby" Scott. She is honored to be back in her home state of Arkansas, where she is truly believes that "the heart of American politics begins by reaching people on the ground." kimberly@arkdems.org

Kathryn Tull - Regional Field Director

Kathryn is an Arkansas native with more than a decade in political and governmental experience. Previously, Kathryn served as campaign manager in Clarke Tucker’s successful state representative race in 2014 (a particularly tough year for Arkansas Democrats).
