You should run for something!

Arkansas needs leaders who are committed to a better Arkansas – a healthier, safer, fairer, and brighter future for our state. Local city councils, county quorum courts, school boards, and our state legislature lack the public servants they need to address the real problems in our state.

You should run for something because Arkansas Democrats need YOU to work for the brighter future our state deserves.

Filing to Run in 2024

The Democratic Party of Arkansas State Committee sets our filing fees for each election. These are funds you owe to the party when you file for listing as a candidate seeking our party’s nomination. Our State Party has been working to reduce our fees from the highest in the country — they have been reduced by 53% since 2018.

In 2023, we made ballot access even more attainable by adding a free option: filing by petition for the state legislature in a majority of districts. By collecting signatures from supportive voters in your district, you can waive the cash filing fee.

We had successes in every corner of the state, but we know this: Democrats lost every race where we didn’t field a candidate.

Our Party is prepared to support the Democrats who step up to run and win like never before. We know the top of the ticket is going to have a pretty incredible record – and we know we can elect Democrats at the city, county, and local level, too. But we can’t do it without your help, your leadership, and your belief that Arkansas can be a healthier, safer, fairer, and brighter place for all of us.

Step up to run, and join the incredible group of leaders, workers, and fighters that will be our Democratic slate in 2024.”
