The Arkansas Legislature is spending this legislative session passing a series of radical laws to overturn women’s reproductive rights. The latest Republican-led infringement on the rights of Arkansas women is a bill which fails to even provide exceptions for incest, rape, fetal abnormalities, or the health of the mother as part of a ban on abortion at 18 weeks.
The House passed the bill on Monday on a 77-13 vote. However, this unconstitutional bill can still be blocked in the Arkansas Senate, or by the U.S. court system.
Arkansas already has some of the strictest abortion laws in the country. Last week, the governor signed into law a total ban on abortion — if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns its 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.
