Update on April 3 Fisher-Shackelford Dinner & May 30 Special State Convention

In consultation with party leaders and staff and following the guidance of health officials, the Democratic Party of Arkansas provides the following updates.

FISHER-SHACKELFORD DINNER – April 3 (postponed) 

As many of you know, this time of year is when we gather to celebrate the accomplishments of Democratic women across the state. In light of the recent of COVID-19 pandemic we will be postponing the Seventh Annual Fisher-Shackelford Dinner previously scheduled for April 3. A new date has not yet been selected. SPECIAL STATE CONVENTION – May 30

At this time, we are not cancelling our May 30 Special State Convention, where we are set to elect our delegates to the National Democratic Convention. However, we will continue to follow the Center for Disease Control, the Arkansas Department of Health, and the City of Little Rock for appropriate guidance regarding large gatherings. We will offer further updates in the coming weeks. In the interim, State Party staff are working with the DNC Party Affairs, State Executive Committee, and State Rules Committee to ensure a remote voting plan is in place.
